Sunil Varma put down his pen and looked at the paper with satisfaction. He had just signed the final contract that would give his company, Harmony Nagar Business Group, the exclusive rights to exploit the rich mineral resources of the forest land. He didn't care about the environmental or social consequences of his actions. He only cared about the profits and the power.

He turned to his secretary, who was standing next to him with a clipboard. She was a young and attractive woman, who had joined his group a few months ago. She had quickly proven herself to be a loyal and efficient assistant, who shared his vision and ambition. She also shared his twisted sense of humour, which involved a secret plan to eliminate their enemies and rivals in a cruel and unusual way.

He smiled at her and said, "Well done, Riya. You have done a great job in compiling this list."

He took the clipboard from her and glanced at the names and photos of the people who were on their hit list. They were politicians, activists, journalists, and celebrities who had opposed or criticized their project. They had also included some random people who had annoyed them in some way, such as a rude taxi driver, a noisy neighbour, or a cheating ex-lover.

Riya smiled back and said, "Thank you, sir. I'm glad you like it. I have also arranged the delivery of the packages to their addresses. They should receive them by tomorrow morning."

The packages contained a special device that they had developed with the help of a rogue scientist. It was a small and harmless-looking gadget that looked like a USB flash drive. But when plugged into a computer or a phone, it would emit a high-frequency sound that would trigger a fatal laughter attack in the person who heard it. The person would laugh uncontrollably until they died of asphyxiation or cardiac arrest. It was a perfect way to kill someone without leaving any trace or evidence.

Sunil Varma nodded and said, "Excellent. I can't wait to see their faces when they open the packages. It will be hilarious."

He handed back the clipboard to her and said, "Come on, let's go and join the others. They are waiting for us downstairs."

They walked out of the cold and sterile room, where they had been reviewing the contract and the list. They entered the elevator and pressed the button for the ground floor. As they descended, they heard the sound of music and laughter coming from the lobby. The group had booked the entire hotel for their celebration. They had invited their partners, investors, and friends to join them in a lavish party. They had spared no expense in hiring the best caterers, entertainers, and security guards. They wanted to enjoy their success and flaunt their wealth and influence.

They ignored the TV screen in the elevator, which was showing a breaking news report. It said that seven people had been killed and dozens injured in a violent clash between the police and the tribal people, who were protesting against the group's project. The tribal people claimed that the project would destroy their ancestral land, their culture, and their livelihood. They had been staging a peaceful demonstration outside the hotel, but the police had used tear gas, water cannons, and rubber bullets to disperse them. The situation had escalated into a bloody confrontation, with some protesters throwing stones and petrol bombs at the police.

Riya reached out and turned off the TV with the remote control. She said, "We don't need to see this. It's not our problem."

Sunil Varma agreed and said, "You're right. It's not our problem. It's their problem. They are the losers, and we are the winners. And tonight, we are going to celebrate like never before."

They stepped out of the elevator and walked into the lobby, where they were greeted by applause and cheers. They smiled and waved at the crowd, who were dressed in expensive and fashionable clothes. They made their way to the stage, where a large banner said, "Congratulations, Harmony Nagar Business Group, on your successful project launch!"

They took their seats on the stage, next to the other members of the group. They raised their glasses and toasted to their victory. They didn't notice the angry and desperate faces of the tribal people, who were watching them from outside the hotel. They didn't hear the sirens and the gunshots that echoed in the night. They didn't care about anything or anyone but themselves. They were the masters of the world, and they had no reason to fear or regret anything.

They laughed and laughed, unaware of the irony and the fate that awaited them.

Dear Revathy,

Greetings from Kerala! I hope this letter finds you in good health and spirits. I am writing to you to share some exciting news and to ask for your feedback on a project that I am working on.

As you know, I am a writer and a journalist, and I have always been fascinated by the Koichuri tribe and their mysterious scripture, the Aada Amiya. I have been researching this topic for a long time, and I have decided to write a novel based on it. The novel is about a journalist named Vimal who discovers that the characters of his novel are actually alive and in danger.

The novel is part of a series called Distant Folk, which consists of six independent novels that tell the story of six authors researching the Koichuri tribe, their characters, and the beliefs of the Koichuri people. The series is written by Sadanandan Kakkanat, a famous author who inspired me to pursue this project.

However, I have encountered a problem that has upset me greatly. A few days ago, I saw some parts of the novel that I was writing on social media. Someone had stolen my work and posted it online without my permission. I was furious and curious at the same time. I wanted to find out who was behind this theft and why they did it.

I contacted the person who posted the notes and asked him, "Who are you and why are you stealing my novel?" To my shock and disbelief, he replied, "I am Nirmal Koichuri, the main character of your novel. I am not stealing your novel, I am writing my own story."

I could not believe what I was reading. How could Nirmal Koichuri, the main character of my novel, be alive and writing his own story? I had to see him for myself and find out the truth. I arranged a meeting with him and went to see him.

When I arrived at the meeting place, I saw a crowd of people and police officers. I asked one of the officers what had happened. He told me that a man named Nirmal Koichuri had been killed by a hit-and-run driver. He showed me a picture of the victim. It was the same face that I had imagined for my character.

I was stunned and speechless. I felt a mix of emotions: sadness, anger, confusion, and fear. How could this be possible? How could my character die in real life? Was this a coincidence or something more sinister?

I decided to investigate further and find out more about Nirmal Koichuri and his connection to the Koichuri tribe and the Aada Amiya. I discovered that he was not the only one. There were other people who claimed to be the characters of my novel. They lived in different places and had different backgrounds, but they all shared the same fate: they were all in danger.

I had to meet them and learn their stories. I travelled to various locations and met the characters of my novel in real life. They told me about their lives, their dreams, their struggles, and their secrets. They also told me about the Koichuri tribe and the Aada Amiya, and how they were related to them.

I learned a lot from them, but I also learned more secrets that I wished I had never discovered. One of them was the character of Aminora Miyaka, the most dangerous character of my novel. Aminora Miyaka was the leader of a cult that worshipped the Aada Amiya and wanted to destroy the world. He was ruthless, cunning, and powerful. He had many followers and enemies, and he was after me.

I realized that Aminora Miyaka had sent his agents to look for me and to kill me. He knew that I was writing a novel about him and his cult, and he wanted to stop me. He also wanted to get his hands on the Aada Amiya, the original scripture of the Koichuri tribe, which was hidden somewhere in the world.

I was terrified and desperate. I did not know what to do or where to go. I felt like I was trapped in a nightmare that I could not escape. I wished I had never started this project. I wished I had never discovered the character of Aminora Miyaka.

But I also felt a sense of duty and responsibility. I felt that I had to finish my novel and expose the truth about Aminora Miyaka and his cult. I felt that I had to honour the memory of Nirmal Koichuri and the other characters that had died because of me. I felt that I had to protect the Koichuri tribe and the Aada Amiya from the evil forces that wanted to destroy them.

That is why I am writing to you, my dear friend. You are the only person I trust and the only person who can help me. I need your feedback on my novel and your advice on what to do next. I have attached a copy of my draft for you to read and review. Please be honest and constructive. Tell me what you think of my story, my characters, and my style. Tell me what I can improve and what I can change. Tell me if I should continue or stop.

Please reply to me as soon as possible. I am waiting for your response anxiously. I hope you are safe and well. I miss you a lot and I hope to see you soon.

Your friend,

Vimal Katoor.
